Cassette tape is woven through a system of flywheels beneath the surface of the ink. In collaboration with Poet Laureate WS Merwin, a selection of his poems were recorded and shared, themed around nature and nostalgia. The recordings are picked up by a modified cassette tape player and transferred to wireless headphones available to viewers in the museum’s main gallery space.
